I just got this new 2CD sampler of NDW from Amazon and it's on ZYX Records called The World Of Neue Deutsche Welle Volume 2, with some good songs but all the artists are unknowns like:
Der Schone Martin ("terra titanic", Hitze Der...", "Wenn Der Mond...", "Engel 07"), Britta ("Hohe Berge")
Susi ("Der Knutschfleck")
Herr Scholz ("Rendevous")
Inka ("Neue Manner Braucht..."
Frierende Tonchen ("Karl der Kafer")
Malu ("Codo")
El Deux ("Computer-Madchen")
Die Schuler ("Polizisten")
Gunnar ("Niels-Lied")

Who are half these bands? What decade were they recorded in? Are any of these artists the originals? Do you know anything about this weirdness? Have I just been had?

Hi Nathan!

Exept of "Frische Farbe", "Claude" and "El Deux" (all from Switzerland), for those the Zyx-label probably got the licenses for less money, that compilation unfortunately contains coverversions by no-name artists only. I guess that coverversions were recorded in the late 90s.
